How to Use After Effects Templates?
After Effects Templates can simplify your work, but only if you know how to use them.
In the following tutorial I will show you the most efficient way to work in heavy AE project of after effects templates. As a general rule, only preview the stuff you really need to see.
The actual resolution of most ae templates is Full HD. This is often much bigger than your screen, so there is no sense in viewing it in full resolution, because the resolution will be scaled down, so after effects will render all the pixels, and all the frames, but you will see less than 25 percent of it.
Let’s put it to Quarter resolution;it will preview much faster. But sometimes even Quarter resolution can be too big, so go to Custom and type in 6: so every sixth pixel will be rendered. It goes much faster, and you can even go up to one-in-eight pixels. What if you want to modify just the text? You dont need to see all the other effects, which take so much time to render. You only need the text; so you can select the text layer, and I Solo it. Everything goes super-fast. You don’t need to see anything else, and now you can see the movement of the text When ever you edit after effects templates, it is good to identify the most render-heavy layer, and than shut it off while you work.
